Serves me right for not updating on this account for a good while, I guess.

But, that doesn't matter. The reason behind my absence has payed off: I scored a 91% on the Managerial Accounting Midterm. BOO-YAH. That may not sound to terribly impressive, but considering the fact that it was the 2nd highest grade in the class, I'm pretty damn happy with it.
Bickering with the sun

    <lj:music>Silence (my roommate is sleeping)</lj:music>

Today I discovered that the sun did, indeed, read my livejournal. Further more, it is now taunting me with the knowledge it gained from doing such.

I was sitting in "Managerial Accounting" doodling in my notebook when the room suddenly become very bright. I wasn't the only one who, in my hazey zoned-out stupor, noticed the shift in brightness and a bunch of people turned towards the window only to be confronted with Mr.Sun. Not in his full, uncovered glory, but Mr.Sun was wearing a robe of mist at most. At this point, I believe Mr.Sun realized his nude self and ran away before anyone would say anything lest a sigh of dissapointment.

After flashing us one time, the sun felt the need to peak out from time to time just to remind us that we were locked indoors listening to ways to calculate an estimated overhead cost. Fast forward to class ending. Everyone bolts in search of sunlight, lunch, and an escape from the slideshow diagrams of overhead costs, only to find that Mr. Sun has once more been devoured by a familar grey haze.

God damnit! Hopefully it will come out again before it gets dark...hopefully. In any case, this haze can't last much longer...can it?
~Kigs

    <lj:music>The notwist - Consequence</lj:music>

Stockton has had this grey haze surrounding the city for the last three weeks or so, and it wasn't until today that I realized that I don't remember the last time I saw the sun. The air quality here is atrocious, and winter normally brings this chilly fog which envelops everything that slices through whatever warm clothing you may be wearing.

This is alarming to me for several reasons, but the most immidiate is simply the cold. It's been cold enough to snow, but the humidity hasn't been right for rain. As a result, I've spent the last couple of weeks huddled up inside my dormitoy under a mound of fuzzy blankets. I fear my roommate may return to the room one evening to find that the blankets have eaten his roomate and all that remains of him are a pair of boots and some cthulu paraphenelia.

Beyond that, I just miss the sun. The smell, the warmth, the light; it's all been giving me this terrible case of wonderlust, and I find myself escaping Stockton to go dance, larp, or kill time elsewhere.

Give me a couple days of rest and a blue sky, and I'll be fine. It's the strangest thing being unable to see the sun during the say. There's light everywhere, mind you, but you can't tell where it's coming from. It's just this dull grey glow which doesn't cast shadow. It's unnerving. Earlier this evening, the sky peaked out in a small strip of blue amongst the dull grey. I even saw a couple birds. So, hopefully, I'll get some sun tommorow. Hopefully.
~Kigs

    <lj:music>Preziosso feat. Marvin - Voices</lj:music>

I want gadgets and diggles and squiggles and quids!

That said, I have FINALLY uploaded a couple New Years eve pics. We had a bit of a get together at my household, which doubled up as a going away party for my freinds Nital and Brian before they flew back to the military.

The details and pictures can be seen behind this Here we have are cornicopia of alchaholic beverages.

Nital looking happy at the prospect of drinking far too much.

The night consisted of a mini-rave, at which point I discovered that I can somehow poi spin while plastered. Unfortunately, none of the pictures came out very well, so just imagine a bunch of spinning glow sticks in the dark with Anabolic Frolic playing in the background. We drank...alot.

The next morning I wasn't in the best mindset. I awoke around 8am, was fed some tequilla, and puked. Lovely. After wrestling with my stomach for a while, I sucked down some Vitamin B and a couple bottles of water before passing out sprawled across my bed. Cold chills, hot flashes, the whole dealie. It was terrible.

On the bright side, I awoke two hours later and was feeling fine. Not just fine, I was feeling amazing. In a great mood, even. The sun peaked out from the clouds for a bit and after I slurped down some soup, I was feeling right as rain.

Over the course of the next couple hours, I managed to paste my memory of the party back together in my mind. To the best of my recollection, I drank Four shots of vodka, one of which had a broken glow stick inside of it, two mugs (steins) of port, Two Smirnoff Ice's, An Irish Car Bomb, A Kahua mixer, the remainder of the gin and juice, A rum and orange juice mixer, and a mug and a half of champagne.

I managed to remain a calm, collected, cognitive person up until the champagne. Apparently, champagne is my weakness. Once it hit my stomach, I was gone. Absolutely. Utterly. Blasted. I remember talking on the phone with a couple folks, but I don't remember much of what was said. I remember giving people advice and having some nice conversations, but don't remember what the hell I was talking about. At one point during the night, I went outside and talked in the blistering cold in a pair of pants and t-shirt. I know this because I'm currently suffering from a nasty caste of the sniffles.

The next morning, this is all which remained of our cornicopia.

Considering that there were only about 7 people there, that is kind of scary.

All in all, it was a good party. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was a good note to leave my freinds on.
~Kigs

UOP has determined that, in respect of the upcoming finals week, 23 hours of the day have been alloted "Quiet hours". A quiet hour is an hour of the day in which the sound level is to be restricted in order to allow for further concentration. Understandable.

As for the remaining hour of the day, it has been deemed a "loud hour"; an hour with no noise limits,so as to allow students to run up and down the halls, be insane, and shake off the stress of the day. In honor of "loud hour", my Roommate and I have attached a computer/microphone to two Public Announcement Speakers. Let it be known that for the week of Dec 13-17th, in the time between 9pm and 10pm, Grace Covel will be home to the an all requests radio show.
Nevar's post on my previous entry reminded me that I never told you what was on my plate. So, here we go.

This is from left to right on the top view picture:
A slice of french bread with a glob of butter and green stuff.
A slab of roast beef.
Pasta (eww)
Potatoes
Spicy Zucchini and what appears to be other vegetables.
Taquitos with cheese, guacamole, and (not very) hot sauce.

I enjoyed reading your answers, so let's .
Once more, let's play, "Guess what I ate for lunch".

...and, something special, just for kicks. This was the special ingredient to dessert.

It's a bit blurry and the lighting is washing out the details, but that's what I get for using a camera phone. She said I could bring in my own "special ingredient" next time I come in to dinner.
Rock on.

I'd also like to thank the shoulders I had to cry on last night. I had a good night's sleep.
~Kigs

That's it! An entire 28 (approx.) hours after I began my to do list, I have finished it ALL.

For the reacord, I would like to say that I now officially wonder how some of the people in my group got into college in the first place. The following is a quote written about eVoting, and it's possible impact on the privacy and sanctity of voting:
"There are so many ways that hackers can hack intothe main site and tamper with the results, having everything in a jumble ...
...Having people hack into others internet, receiving all of the information that they need to get in order to steal some one else's identity..."

Apparently by, "editing" the essay, they meant, "rewrite" the essay. Lovely.
~Kigs
